Updates, updates

22 Jan

I got a lot done this past week!  Thursday night, I read for a huge assistant casting director at a workshop.  She casts for one of the biggest long running primetime dramas on television.  It was a cold read and my character’s husband was having a serious surgery.  I started tearing up toward the end and she  seemed to be pleased with my work.

On Friday I had a private lesson with awesome commercial teacher and casting director Chris Game.  He is great at what he does and I learned a lot in one hour.  Everything was on tape and I got to watch myself get better with each take.

Saturday was also interesting.  I attended the SAG Conservatory’s open house Q&A seminar.  SAG Conservatory offers several classes to SAG members and AFI’s film students cast them in their projects.  I would recommend it to any SAG actor wanting to expand their skills and hopefully build their resumes.

This coming week should be good as well.  Chinese New Year on the 23rd and SAG Awards on the 29th.  Happy Awards Season!!
